Where is the LCB centre in Barking?
Our centre is at Suite 1, 1st Floor, Roding House, Cambridge Rd, Barking IG11 8NL. It is a short walk from Barking station and the town centre.
Barking station is served by the District line, the Hammersmith & City line, c2c trains and the London Overground Suffragette line, according to TfL's station data. Many buses also stop at Barking Station, including the EL1, 5, 62, 169, 238, 287 and 368. For exact times from your door, use the TfL Journey Planner.
The building has a front desk and cameras. Parents are welcome to come in, meet the tutor and see the room before their child starts.
Which Barking secondary schools do our students come from?
Most of our in-person students go to schools in Barking or nearby Dagenham. We teach to each child's exam board, so it helps to know the local picture.
Here are the Barking schools in the 2025 GCSE ranking published by the Barking and Dagenham Post. Attainment 8 is the average score across a pupil's best eight GCSEs.
| School | Where | 2025 Attainment 8 |
|---|---|---|
| Riverside School | Renwick Road, Barking Riverside | 55.5 |
| Barking Abbey School | Sandringham Road and Longbridge Road | 49.6 |
| Greatfields School | Net Street, Barking | 45.4 |
| Eastbury Community School | Hulse Avenue, Barking | 44.8 |
School addresses are from the government's Get Information About Schools register. These numbers are averages. Every school has pupils who need a push from a 4 to a 6, and pupils aiming for 8s and 9s.
Does the exam board matter for Barking students?
Yes. Different boards ask questions in different ways, so we teach to the board your child's school uses.
For example, Barking Abbey's maths page says it uses AQA for GCSE Maths and Edexcel for A-Level Maths. In our Barking groups we check each student's board at the free assessment and use matching past papers. You can read more in our guide to AQA vs Edexcel GCSE Maths.
Can Barking children sit the Redbridge 11+?
Some can. It depends on your exact address.
The Redbridge 11+ is the test for Ilford County High School (boys) and Woodford County High School (girls). Only children who live in the common catchment area can be offered a place. That area covers all of Redbridge and Waltham Forest, plus parts of Barking & Dagenham, Newham and Essex.
Redbridge Council tells parents to check their postcode on its online map before registering. For 2027 entry, registration ran from 1 May to 15 June 2026 and the test was on 18 September 2026. Children register in Year 5 and sit the test in Year 6.
Our full guide explains the Redbridge 11+ catchment for Barking families. If you are outside it, 11+ preparation still builds strong maths and reading for Year 7.
